Have You been Told Yet

Google is now requiring website owners to improve how their websites display on the growing number of Smartphones.

In a recent Blog post Introducing smartphone Googlebot-Mobile Google stated that they have now introduced a new “Bot” that will crawl the Internet looking for website content that is friendly to Smartphone users…

Here is what one comment to the Blog post had to say:

“I’m glad to see that Google appears to be abandoning its previous position that smartphones should be directed to desktop websites.

Hopefully this now means that when I search from my smartphone, Google is going to return, or at least highlight, sites with mobile-friendly content.”

This echos what millions of Smartphone users feel and this makes perfect sense for Google.

They want to give the BEST experience for their users, and that includes Smartphone users. Their new Googlebot-Mobile for smartphones will theoretically take care of this poor smartphone search experience.

Now Google are asking website owners to have a Mobile friendly version of their website, so the question is “Do you have one?”
